Project Summary

The office development at 111 Strand is located on one of London’s principal thoroughfares, close to the Savoy Hotel. Successfully completed in the autumn of 2002, and now occupied by an international IT company, 111 The Strand is a clever and sympathetically designed redevelopment project.

Description

Set among semi-industrial buildings, just off The Strand, three dilapidated properties were completely redesigned by Michael Squire & Partners. It now provides 40,000 sq. ft. of stylish and modern office and retail accommodation.

Lincoln Red Facings, supplied by EH Smith, were pre-cast into brick panels by Decomo in Belgium for the attractive facades on Pleydell Street and Lombard Lane.

Barnaby Johnson, Architect, Squire & Parners

"The bricks chosen both responded to the local context and met the required tolerances and quality we required for pre-casting. "
